Winter divides us, seperates us and isolates us. We rely on roads and paths to be clean. I dont mind the wet, but pools of gravel, snow and ice are un-ridable. Longboarding brings us together, and mother natures fury of winter wrecks us. Only in Calgary can we get 3ft of snow one week, and 2 later its plus 12 and were out skating, only to have our dreams and hard work crushed by more snow the next week. And even after the snow is gone, it takes a good 2 months to clear all the gravel. But keep your hopes up skaters in calgary, the winter also brings our stoke back times 10 when its gone and were back chilling and skating. We'll see all of you soon.

What racing has done for me?

Ah man, racing is the cherry on top of the longboarding community double fudge ice cream sundae! What other sport is there that you can go to a huge competition, chill and party with all your opponents, race the next day for thousands of dollars... and come to a stop after the finish and say, "hey man, that was f*ing sick". Back in hometown hicktown, you would go to a hockey game with a certain "hate" for the other team, you were'nt friends with your opponents, you wanted to wreck them... stupid chuds. The thrill of skating with the worlds best is un-toppable, and getting better and better with every race you go to... i had the same feeling back when i lost my virginity.

What skateboarding has done for me?

Careful kids, skating is like cocaine, it will take over your life. You will try it once, do it again the next day, then you're addicted. Of course the only side effects are skinned knees and broken bones... a small sacrifice. I dont have any of the same friends i grew up with, my life took a complete 360 (i never understood that saying) after college, all i wanted to do was skate and chill with my new homeboys, bahaha. Now i work my ass off every winter so i have enough money to travel around north america and soon the world to skate and race. The adventure's and stories i have to tell will stick with me until my death bed. Same with all the new and interesting people i get to meet.

What does skating for godspeed mean to me?

When i moved to calgary in my friends kitchen so i could get good at longboarding, the people i chased after and always wish i could be as good as one day, were Godspeeders. They were the best in Calgary, and were getting there names known around the racing circuit, with there incredibally aggresive style of riding, and might i add indestructable boards that literally chop others in half, you know what im talking about. After a not bad finish at the Sullivan challenge in Kimberly B.C, i got to know mark john a little better... and after recently building a board that suited my riding style and 6'3" freakish height, i was asked to be the 5th rider for Godspeed. Obviously i didnt hesitate, i was f*ing stoked. Now i get to ride with the best from calgary as a team, and ride the most durable and might i add incredibally sexy longboards money can buy. Pretty soon it's not going to be Calgary showing upo to a race, its going to be Godspeed showing up to a race.
